MY CHILDHOOD

A Bas-Saint-Laurent girl at heart

My birth

I was born in Saint-Pacôme, a small, bucolic municipality in the Bas-Saint-Laurent. My father was a milk farmer; I lived during the era of “factries” (factory with a heavy Québec accent) that were managed by the King and Williams families.

As with all the other kids of my generation, Dr. Royer was the tending doctor when I was born in his modest clinic on Avenue Bégin. Here I am, a few days after my baptism.

A wonderful childhood

Growing up in Saint-Pacôme was so much fun! Green spaces, lots of farms, and a lot of tractors…It was too easy to play tricks on people!

Sure, I looked like an angel. But deep down, I was mischievous little girl. I was great at playing jokes on the locals. I’ll never reveal how I pulled them off, though!

Because the farms were so close to each other, I developed a love for animals. I loved them so much that I decided to become a veterinarian.
